Why we started this

Most people’s experience of hiring an electrician is worse than it should be. The diagnosis is vague. The price shows up after the work. The permit does not get pulled, and nobody finds out until the house is on the market and an inspector asks about the panel.

None of that is hard to avoid. It just requires deciding, up front, that you are going to run the business the other way — and then not making exceptions when it costs you a job.

That is what the name means. It is a standard we hold ourselves to, and it is the thing you should hold us to.

A local shop

True Service Electric is local and family-owned. The owner started as an electrician in 1999. We live in the Valley and we work in the Valley.

How we work

• Licensed and accountable. CSLB Lic. #895361. The number is on our trucks, our invoices and this page because California requires it — and because you should be able to look us up.
• Diagnose before quoting. We find the actual fault, then price the actual fix.
• Permit the work that needs it. Service upgrades, rewires, new circuits. It protects your resale and your insurance claim, and it means a second set of eyes checked our work.
• Show up in the window. If we are running late you get a call, not silence.
• Say so when we don’t know. Code changes, utility timelines and rebate programs all move. We would rather check than guess out loud.
• Clean up. Drop cloths, shoe covers, and the drywall dust goes home with us.
