Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting

Something stopped working and you want to know why, what it costs, and when it can be fixed. That is the whole job.

Book a visit with an arrival window, or call and talk it through with someone who knows the answer.

What we actually do on a diagnostic call

A tripping breaker is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It can be a failing breaker, a loose neutral, an overloaded circuit, a damaged conductor in a wall, or a piece of equipment drawing more than it should. Guessing costs you money twice — once for the wrong part, once for the right one.

We trace the circuit, test under load, and find the fault. Then you get the cause in plain language and a price for the fix before anyone picks up a tool.

Common calls

  • Breakers that trip repeatedly or will not reset
  • Dead outlets, half-hot outlets, loose receptacles
  • Flickering or dimming lights
  • Burning smell, warm cover plates, scorch marks — treat these as urgent
  • GFCI and AFCI devices that nuisance-trip
  • Switches, three-ways and dimmers that stopped working
  • Failed connections in a panel or junction box
  • Damage from rodents, water intrusion, or a previous repair done wrong

If it is hot, smells like burning, or sparked

Shut the breaker off if you can do it safely and call us. Do not keep resetting a breaker that keeps tripping — it is doing its job, and the thing it is protecting you from is a fire.

Questions we get

Frequently asked

How does a repair call work?
We diagnose the actual cause first, then quote the repair before any work starts. You hear the number and decide — nothing gets done that you have not approved.
Will you tell me the price before you start?
Always. We diagnose, then quote the repair, then you decide. Nothing gets done that you have not approved.
Do you work on older homes?
Yes, and a lot of Fresno housing stock is older. Tower District, Old Fig Garden and the Huntington corridor have wiring that predates modern code. See our rewiring page for what that involves.
