Generators & Backup Power

Valley summers put real strain on the grid, and an outage costs a business money by the hour and a household a refrigerator full of food.

Get this handled

Book a visit with an arrival window, or call and talk it through with someone who knows the answer.

What we install

  • Standby generators with automatic transfer switches
  • Manual transfer switches and generator inlets for portable units
  • Battery storage systems, with or without solar
  • Critical-load sub-panels so the important circuits stay up
  • Whole-house surge protection at the service — cheap insurance for everything downstream

Sizing it honestly

Most people are sold more generator than they need, or a battery sized to a sales sheet rather than to their actual load. We start from what you want to keep running — well pump, HVAC, refrigeration, a server room, a walk-in — and size from there.

Commercial backup and storage

For commercial buildings, the 2025 Title 24 cycle now requires battery energy storage on new construction where photovoltaic is required. If you are planning a build or a major alteration, this belongs in the conversation early, not as a change order.

Questions we get

Frequently asked

Generator or battery?
A generator runs indefinitely as long as it has fuel and is better for long outages and heavy loads like well pumps. A battery is silent, needs no fuel, and pairs with solar, but has a finite reserve. Plenty of properties are best served by one and not the other — we will walk you through which.
Do generators need servicing?
Yes, and the ones that fail during an outage are almost always the ones nobody exercised. Ask us about a maintenance interval when we install.
